Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD):
It was develped in the 1930s by Dr Emil & Estrid Vodder, after research into the lymphatic system.
It is a gentle, light and relaxing massage that assists the lymphatic system to remove waste products, toxins and excess fluid to help cleanse the body.
This has the effect of:

helping to drain excess fluid from the tissue of the body, reducing swelling.

helping to reduce pain by its action on the nervous system.

aiding relaxtion by its action on the nervous system and muscles.
It can be beneficial for:
Detoxing and weight loss - to help leave clearer and cleaner skin, reduce puffiness around the eyes, cellulite, fluid retention and improve skin tone.
Pregnancy - to help reduce swelling of joints, particularly in the ankles and wrists.
Following cosmetic surgery - It is recommended by many clinics bothe before and after treatments such as Liposuction, Breast Augmentation, Face Lifts & Rhinoplasty amongst others. It helps to reduce the recovery time, reduces swelling and bruising and reduces the scar tissue.
