A firmer massage based on holistic massage principles, often with the therapist using their forearms, elbows and heel of their hands as well as using their hands.

Even though Deep Tissue Massage is firmer, it is still performed within the pain threshold of the client, by moving slower, altering the pressure dependant on the area that is being worked and checking in with the client at various points of the treatment.

Deep Tissue Massage is better at working into the deeper bigger muscles, helping to soften up dysfunctional tissue, relieving tension, unwinding knots, working through fibrotic muscles, and is deeply relaxing.

 

It is better suited for persistent tired achy muscles, for relieving chronic patterns of tension and for those that prefer a deeper massage.
